How Big Will Your Puppy Be?

For most pups, the growth curve will approximate as follows:

1/5 of the fit adult weight at 2 months of age

1/3 of the fit adult weight at 3 months of age

1/2 of the fit adult weight at 4 months of age

2/3 of the fit adult weight at 6 months of age

For toy breeds, the curve may be adjusted 'earlier', such that the adult weight may    be reached by 3.5 months.

For giant breeds, the curve may be adjusted 'later', such that the adult weight may    not be reached until 4.5 months.

Note: These curves can also be used to extrapolate backwards in time to estimate a birth date for any dog.

such intense expressions!

Mozembe

This is Mozembe, turning twenty this week .... and finally showing age.  He appears about fifteen now; until 2010, he still looked like a two-year old!

New favorite

Mattie always takes a toy with her when going out for a walk.  Frequently, she grabs one in a way that partially obscures her vision, but she never seems to mind....

Queeny and Brandy

Queeny and Brandy are sisters adopted a few years ago, and are now neighborhood fixtures!

Rusty

this is Rusty, a young pup of the Havanese breed, which is becoming increasingly popular in the area.
